Needle and Syringe Exchange
All Outback Pharmacies stores are providers of The Pharmacy Guild of Australia Needle and Syringe Exchange Program. Our pharmacies are committed to providing information and advice on aspects of harm reduction to the general community and to injecting drug users.
We do this by providing a needle and syringe program which promotes the safer use of needles and syringes while discouraging practices that lead to the sharing or reusing of needles and syringes to minimise the risk of transmission of blood born viruses such as HIV, and hepatitis B and C.
This is a confidential service and the used needles and syringes will be disposed of in a safe and secure manner according to state legislative requirements. Staff and other customers do not come into contact with used needles or syringes at any time.
